During The ICE in St. Moritz I filmed this 1961 Ferrari 250 SWB GT Competizione. Of all the long line series of front-engined V12 Ferrari Gran Turismo designs, the two defining models are surely the 250 GT so-called "Short Wheel-Base" model of 1960-61, and its successor, the shapely 250 GTO of 1962-63.The 250 GT "SWB" - which was never named in this manner by its manufacturer - was a major breakthrough upon its introduction in 1960 as it was a remarkably small and compact car. The Sebring 12-Hours endurance classic run in March 1960 witnessed the new Ferrari 250 GT 'SWB' model's serious competition debut. In 1961 and 1962 seasons the Ferrari 250 SWB- chassis 2939- driven by Edgar Berney scored excellent results, including 4th Overall in the 1961 Tour de France. In 1962 it arrived 2nd Overall and 2nd GT +2.5 at the Coupes de Bruxelles, Heysel; 1st Overall at the Coupe de Vitesse, Montlhery, 1st GT at AvD Avus Preis, Berlin and 1st IC at Spa GP.
