Can I survive playing the creepiest version of Mario 64 out there. It starts with mario getting a mysterious letter from Peach telling him to come to the castle. But when he arrives, Mario unleashes the horrors within. Your put in a first person perspective, all the locations are super dark and the enemies are much more creepier and definitely deadlier than normal. With tons of tricks and traps hidden in the castle can we find out who’s behind all this? Mario 64 holds a special place in gaming history... but these versions will haunt your nightmares. I've challenged myself to play through SEVEN of the most disturbing, creepy, and downright terrifying fan-made versions of Super Mario 64. From unsettling emptiness to full-blown psychological horror, each version pushes the boundaries of what a Mario game should be. What I'm getting myself into: Some remove every living thing from the castle, leaving you in suffocating silence. Others add... things... that lurk in the shadows and follow you through paintings. A few completely warp the game's reality, turning beloved childhood levels into claustrophobic hellscapes where the rules of physics—and sanity—no longer apply. I'm documenting everything. My reactions. My strategies. The moments where I genuinely considered quitting. Because these aren't just scary games—they're psychological experiments designed to make you question what's real and what's part of the game. From the infamous "Wario Apparition" builds to versions with entities that learn your patterns, I'm diving headfirst into the darkest corners of the Mario 64 modding community. Each version gets progressively more disturbing, and by the end, I don't know if I'll ever look at Peach's Castle the same way again. The question isn't just "can I beat these games?" It's "can I keep my composure while doing it?"
