How can researchers apply the ethical principles of Respect for Persons, Concern for Welfare, and Justice in community-based research with Black and racialized communities? In this session, Professor Bukola Salami, Tier 1 Canada Research Chair, shares their strategies for building trust, navigating informed consent, and co-creating research goals with communities historically marginalized in research. Case studies and real-world examples highlight the importance of cultural sensitivity, equitable engagement, and creating space for shared power in research design.
