Chariot Race Between Pelops and Oenomaus on Roman Sarcophagus: Naples Archeological Museum

This incredibly well preserved Roman sarcophagus is currently at the Archeological museum in Naples. It was made around the 3rd century AD, and tells the story of the mythical chariot race between Pelops and Oenomaus who was the King of Pisa. It is amazingly well preserved. I don't remember if it is part of the Farnese Collection or just part of the regular collection (all of it is great!). The story it told in about 5 scenes on the same panel, much like a comic strip or storyboard. This was a very common story on Roman sarcophagi, and there are lots of common sarcophagi stories that use this same comic strip approach. Paul Bredt Looking for Romans
