Silver and Gold CHROME Pigments, something no one had seen before. I bought 3 small jars that i still have today. Opal, Bronze and Blue. I became obsessed and began working more and more with it. It was my dream to create the perfect chrome nail. There were no glues that dried sticky, no gels invented yet and no real nail art to speak of outside of nail tape and stripes. I wanted to create chrome nails so badly. When foiling came out, I was so inspired all over again and i began working with pigments, foil and glues. I had perfected it the best way I could using regular nail polish and When I first started Youtube, I wanted so badly to find the right people to create the glues I needed in bulk to get to you guys so that I could have the first chrome nails on camera without using gel. It didn't happen. My heart broke apart and I did cry when I saw the first chrome nails done on youtube the way I wanted it done for over half of my life. What I had worked so hard to bring to you had been taken and since no one got credit, i know it was just for a company to make money on us......which was worse. I had been doing them so long in my shop with gels but I didnt want to bring gels here to girls who cannot find lights or afford them or live in countries that done have them. I want to make art we ALL can make. The lights are not necessary but they are so helpful in some art techniques but it for the lucky techs who have them available. So, this design is bittersweet. Even though I wasn't first to get it out there, even if i gave away half the secret here so the technique could be made by a company who had money than me, I still feel so proud of this design. Please celebrate that with me...This design is a testimony of not quitting and how hand painted nail art never stops evolving and growing for beginners to professional techs who enhance their craft through hand painting nail art. How it can support your family when you need it most. Through my eyes, seeing this technique available to a brand new nail tech just beginning their career, I am so happy. It shows me my work wasnt in vain because they are so beautiful and they are seemingly so easy now...I spent decades trying to make it "work" at all, through the cracking and gumming up and the chemical reactions etc. then, trying to get it to LAST 2 WEEKS! HAHA! so much went into this design! ............so this is like the grandmother design to the chrome nails that has finally been perfected. I almost teared up again. My passion is nail art that is truly ART..... to see it out in the world and not just at my desk all alone at night with a client is a huge step forward in my life as a hermit nail artist. That our dreams can make tiny differences in the world even if we don't get credit. It's about self worth and being proud of your accomplishments in this short life. We can create anything. I still have lots of techniques I haven't shared yet because its so hard doing it by myself, but that every day I get more excited to bring them to you and hope i get to show you at least ONE of them first.....that is my goal!.
