Fun Facts: Theresienwiese station is best known as the main U-Bahn stop for the Oktoberfest - the world's largest beer festival, held just above the station grounds every autumn. During the festival, the station handles enormous crowds, with extra trains and special crowd-control measures in place. A unique supervisor's booth sits in the center of the platform, allowing staff to manage passenger flow during peak Oktoberfest traffic. The station’s bold black-and-yellow color scheme (echoing Munich’s city colors) and its vaulted, tent-like architecture are a playful nod to the festival atmosphere above.
