We kick things off in Searchlight, Nevada, and roll west across the Joshua Tree Highway into California, chasing color, history, and wide-open backroads all the way toward Death Valley. First stop: Nipton, California — a hauntingly beautiful ghost town that dates back to the railroad and mining era. But Nipton's got more stories than most ghost towns. This is the place connected to silent film legend Clara Bow, and a spot that once hosted a horse ranch that's as wild as the desert surrounding it. Don't sleep on Nipton — it's one of those places that gets under your skin. From there, we roll into Baker, California — home of the World's Largest Thermometer — and trust me, in the Mojave, that thing is no joke. Then it's on to Tecopa and Shoshone, two of the most underrated little desert communities you'll ever pass through. All of it in search of one thing: springtime wildflowers blooming across the Mojave. And spoiler alert — we found them. HECK YEAH.
