This is the second iteration of the Reaction Diffusion art algorithm. Reaction Diffusion is a simulation of 2 chemicals reacting and diffusing in a 2D space. A good tutorial of the math is here: https://www.karlsims.com/rd.html. By varying 2 parameters, f and k (feed rate and kill rate) you get spectacularly complex changes in behavior. I have selected 12 combinations for this capture of the algorithm and added more initialization patterns. Algorithmic Dynamic Art (ADA) is a real-time generative and non-curated art form. Each unique, non-repeating art instance has a life cycle of creation, growth and death. ADA is art as algorithm, written in Python and designed for live presentation on large HD or 4k displays. Each art instance is composed as you watch, is ephemeral, unique and never repeated. This video is a screen capture of the ADA application running particular algorithms.
