This is the supermarket in my neighborhood Riviera 3 Palmeraie in the district of Cocody, northeast of the metropolitan city of Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire(Ivory Coast), west AFRICA. This supermarket is near my house. It is one of the biggest supermarkets in my district. There are others big malls in this area of Cocody. You can find anything here in this supermarket. The local retail sector is booming, with several players. The retail sector is experiencing dynamic growth and some of the key players hope to double their number of stores by 2019. The biggest supermarket brands such as Abidjan Mall, Cap Sud, Cap Nord, Ivoire Center, CDCI, Carrefour, Prosuma King Cash, Hayat and Leader Price, etc... have a niche position in the retail market as they offer almost exclusively imported products at exorbitant prices, which puts them out of reach of the majority of Ivorian households. With African nations rapidly scaling production capacity, improving infrastructure, and tightening trade alliances, the market power balance is shifting faster than analysts predicted. African middle classes have grown faster than the Western ones. The African cities are rapidly expanding at a rate unseen before and its technology adaptation has leapfrogged the entire generations of the western systems. The African cities are bursting with young high-income consumers. This is why many Western retail companies are moving on the African continent especially in countries like: South Africa, Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, Ghana.
