Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the Teachers Pet podcast was “as dangerous as it was useful” in getting justice for Lynette Dawson’s family. Former teacher and rugby league player Chris Dawson was found guilty of the murder of his wife Lynette Dawson, who disappeared in January 1982, after a 10-week trial. The Australian’s National Chief Correspondent Hedley Thomas created The Teacher’s Pet podcast, which investigated the murder of Ms Dawson. “It brought out more evidence, put the focus on the case, that was great, but at the same time it influenced minds, including of witnesses - made them think ‘well, Chris Dawson must be guilty’,” Mr Bolt said. “And the judge today did say some witnesses who went on that podcast had their heads turned so much that their evidence was tainted, useless.”
