Abdominal palpation of the pregnant abdomen.

Upon examination of the pregnant abdomen there things are done. 1. Inspection- observing the abdomen for strike Gravidarum (stretch marks), Linea Negra, fetal movements, piercings, tattoos etc. 2. Palpation- checking the symphysis fundal height with a rape measure from the top of the uterus to the symphysis pubis, checking for the fetal presentation whether cephalic (head down) or breech ( bottom or foot/ feet down), checking the position of fetus to determine location of the fetal back to mother. 3. Auscultation- listening for babys heartbeat. Note consent was given by client to record same.
