You see the Reverb effect fills in the silence, making playing the next song sound seamless. Keep note though, that his next song starts with instrumentals, so if you’re gonna try to do this transition yourself, make sure your next song doesn’t start with any beats To accent his EDM build ups, Alan Walker likes to implement the Flanger Effect on a build up right before it enters its drop section The thing about the Flanger effect is that, it’s pretty easy to go crazy on it because it has a such a distinct sound. So make sure to use this effect as sparingly as you can because overusing it can make your mix sound pretty amateur. Alan Walker usually ends his transitions with a Spiral Effect The reason why he uses this effect, is because the Spiral Effect like the Reverb and Echo effect, naturally dissipate the song from the mix. Giving an overall smoother blend. Now you can think of the Spiral effect as a more buffed up Reverb effect, because this effect adds more Reverberation to the input sound. But if your software or DJ unit doesn’t have this effect, simply use the Reverb or Echo effect. They all pretty much sound the same. So let’s talk about Alan Walkers EQ Mixing Style because it’s pretty interesting. So when mixing the next song in, Alan reduces all of the EQ’s off the upcoming track especially the LOW Show Then he brings the next song’s volume fader up to blend it in the mix, all while working on bringing back those EQ’s to their 12 o’clock position, Then when they’re finally there, he brings down the current song’s volume fader. Sometimes he varies with this, by affecting the previous song’s LOW EQ then bringing its volume fader down. __ Now the next technique is actually my favorite, but before we get to it, comment down below a DJ who’s mixing style you guys want me to breakdown next, and I might just do it, like I did with this one. Also, if you guys wanna get exclusive access to my secret Mix breakdowns and tutorials just like this, consider joining my Youtube membership program. Besides getting access to secret content, you’ll also get access to download all my DJ edits for free Anyway, let’s now move on! __ Number 5: Alan Walker uses Sync to transition from Low BPM songs to High BPM songs and vice-versa Demo So here’s how you can do this transition. Keep in mind that for this example, we’re going to transition from a 90 BPM song to a 130 BPM song. And both our tracks have long intros and outros So the first step is to set the song you’re mixing from as the Master Deck, Then press Beat Sync on both Decks. Now when your current song reaches it’s outro section, play the next songs via it’s intro section, Then affect the current songs Tempo fader, and slowly bring it up to the next song’s default BPM range, then simply mix out ________________________ See what happens behind the scenes: ►Instagram: / djcarloatendido ►Twitter: / djcarloatendido ►Facebook: / djcarloatendido ►Snapchat/Tiktok: djcarloatendido ________________________ EMAIL: [email protected] ________________________ DISCLAIMER: Some of the links are affiliate links, where I earn a small commission if you click on the link and purchase an item.
