Z32 300ZX - Air conditioning suction throttle valve removal, a basic video on where the valve and some tips on removal The STV can cause the system to not provide cool air when the A/C is on. The system used on the 1990-1993 Z32 with auto climate control (R12) it uses the STV to regulate the refrigerant flow through evaporator whilst the compressor is engaged full time (ie the compressor does not disengage on these systems). These STVs are known to block up or seize, and stop the flow of refrigerant, this causes the issues of no cooling at the evaporator. The valve and parts are no longer available, the best alternatives are to source second hand or to gut the valve, gutting the valve does however, cause over cooling at the evaporator and can freeze it up, I did not do this so I recommend some research before removing the valve out of the housing entirely. *Note - if you go ahead and remove the evaporator you must recover the refrigerant / gas from the system properly to avoid environmental damage
