Vapour compression cycles in refrigeration systems are the most commonly used while studying refrigeration systems. As the name implies, these systems belong to the general class of vapour cycles, wherein the working fluid (refrigerant) undergoes phase change at least during one process. In a vapour compression refrigeration system, refrigeration is obtained as the refrigerant evaporates at low temperatures. This video shows how the ideal vapour compression cycle is different than an actual vapour compression cycle. The side by side description of actual and ideal vapour compression cycle helps the users understand how the refrigerant is compressed and change state in the refrigeration cycle.
