Meet Shirlyne! She is a sophomore at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, majoring in Civil Engineering. Beyond her engineering interests, she has a deep love for music. In this episode, we dive into the communication styles we've noticed after moving abroad—like when you're playing cards and say "niko cardie," how do you even translate that for non-Kenyans? Or when exclaiming, will people understand if you say "ghai" or "ayayayaya"? We had so much fun unpacking these little cultural nuances! I genuinely had a blast filming this episode—I laughed out loud while recording, editing, and even rewatching it, and I hope you enjoy watching it just as much! We also touch on managing mental health amid academic workload, as well as some unique traditions at both Cornell and Columbia. I hope this episode leaves you entertained, inspired, and motivated to be the best version of yourself after hearing from the amazing soul that Shirlyne is! 😊✨ Follow me on Instagram: / _.anjelica_young Check out my website: https://youngangelicah89.wixsite.com/...
