Making your own pan release is super simple. Once you try this recipe you will never go back to buying baking sprays or greasing and flouring a pan. This pan release is great for any cake pan but it works wonders on Bundt pans or specialty baking pans that have lots of intricate indentions. This pan release is shelf stable so it is just stored in the pantry. Pan Release 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil 1/2 cup flour Combine ingredients in a mixer using the paddle attachment. Mix on medium high until completely combined. Mixing time can varying. Store at room temperature in closed container. To apply: Use a pastry brush to apply an ample coat of pan release to your pan. This recipe makes approximately 1 1/2 cups of pan release, but you can make any amount just make sure and use equal parts of shortening, vegetable oil, and flour.
