ESP Eligible! We rode this bike for 3 miles. You get a $150 check to spend at the parts department (3 miles X $50/mile)! Watch the video for more information. Huge Shoutout to Cycle Barn: https://www.cyclebarn.com/ In the commuter category, You get LED headlight, toggleable ABS, and phone connectivity via the rideology app. As for pricing, this bike is relatively cheap but not the cheapest in its category. Honda CRF300L, and Yamaha XT250 are both slightly cheaper, while Suzuki DR-Z400S and KTM 350 EXC-F are more expensive. Speaking of reliability and parts and labor availability, it’s a Kawasaki with a long proven track record of reliability and expansive dealer network. It gets a 13/20 for the commuter category. Now onto the Trail performance and Dope Factor Category Knobby tires long traveling suspensions spoked wheels and 8.5 inches of ground clearance The Sherpa is very underpowered. But that’s ok for its application. Makes 17 Bhp and 13.3 ft.lbs of torques for an average power value of 14.3. It is the least powerful bike in its category With the CRF300L, XT250, DR-Z400S, and 350 EXC-F all making more torque and horsepower than this bike. That’s why Kawasaki is targeting beginner riders. It weighs 300 lbs WET, which is very close to its competitors. The lightest one is the KTM 350 EXC-F. As for the design choices and marketplace, I found it funny to learn that Kawasaki calls this color Whitish Beige as though they couldn’t really decide what to call it. It looks ok not ugly but absolutely nothing to brag about either but gets the job done. Fit and finish is on par with other Kawasaki models. It gets a 11 out of 20 for the overall Performance and Dope Factor Category At the end of the day, the KLX230 Sherpa S ABS isn’t here to impress—it’s here to get the job done. It’s the kind of bike that shrugs at hype, rolls its eyes at spec-sheet flexing, and quietly carries you through your commute or trail ride without drama. Not a head-turner, not a rocket ship, but a steady little mule that’ll always show up when you need it.P
