The Dr. Neubauer antispin range includes ABS 2, ABS 2 Pro, ABS 2 Soft, and also ABS 3 and ABS 3 Pro. The pattern is clear. But the combination that seems like the natural next step — ABS 3 with a soft topsheet — doesn’t exist. For table tennis players who rely on control and blocking, this gap raises an interesting question. ... . I’ve played with ABS 3 and ABS 2 Soft, and here’s my conclusion: ABS 2 Soft was a bit too fast for me, though I liked its softer touch, while ABS 3 was slow enough for my style, but the topsheet felt a bit too “hard.” So I decided to try something different: I combined the soft topsheet from ABS 2 Soft with the dampening blue sponge from ABS 3. The result? You’ll see in the next sequences — and my first impression is that I like it. I’m even planning to play a full table tennis tournament with it next time. But the big question remains: why Dr Neubauer doesn’t make ABS 3 Soft anti-spin rubber?!? The blade used in this experiment is Dr. Neubauer Matador Texa Carbon. #tabletennis #antispin #drneubauer
