Introduction to effective and practical research data management

This introductory workshop offers a practical guide to managing research data effectively across its lifecycle. Designed to help participants understand the basics of managing research data effectively and responsibly the workshop covers the key data principles FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and CARE (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, Ethics). During this free 90-minute online workshop, we will explore a brief introduction to creating effective data management plans for organising and managing your research data, a snapshot of key issues related to data privacy, security, and compliance. This session will also introduce the basic strategies for ensuring data integrity and preservation and incorporates a high-level introduction to practical tools, including semi-automated solutions for data management.
