Catching big Carp on a short afternoon/early evening session. With all aspects of Carp fishing (and other species), the number one key to success is location, especially when time is limited. If there are no fish in front of you then you aren't going to catch them. Sometimes the fish fish are easy to find - cruising around on the surface, in clear water you can see them, you may see them jumping and rolling, bubbling etc. On this trip I walked the lake and found a few fish just below the surface at one end of the lake, then at the other end I found a group of feeding fish that were absolutely ripping the bottom up - the water is usually very coloured in this pool, but in this instance I could see clouds of really dirty water and bubbles coming up in one specific area. With feeding fish found I knew I was in with a very good chance. It turned out to be quite a hectic session!! This place is by no means a runs water so I tend to fish for one bite at a time, setting small traps for the fish. After having a small stockie things got manic - a double hook up! Knowing there are plenty of snags the fish could potentially reach I had to get the first fish in the net asap! @nashtackle @vortexbaits Tackle used - Nash scope 3.5lb test curve, 10 foot Sonik Vader X fs reels Nash bullet 12lb mono Sonik Xtractor landing net Greys Prodigy brolly Fox Duralite chair Fox mini micron X alarms
