This is because courses such as Medicine, Engineering and Law had very high cutoff grades, even in the quota modalities. Most of these courses had grades above 760 points, including in the quotas. The average cutoff grade to enter UFMG was approximately 704 points. Engineering, medicine and law courses push this average up, requiring grades well above 700 points. But soon you will see that there are less competitive courses and there are several opportunities to get into UFMG with a score of around 600 points. The UFMG course that had the highest cut-off score in the general competition in 2021 was Medicine, with more than 800 points. Next comes Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science, both with more than 770 points in the cut-off score. Remember that each quota modality has different cut-off scores. So far we have only seen UFMG courses with very high cut-off scores. But there are also less competitive courses that are a little less difficult to get into. Some of the lowest scores were Library Science, Archives and Forestry Engineering, all with scores a little above 600 points in the general competition. Before finishing the video, I'm going to show you the lowest cutoff scores for Sisu 2021 at UFMG. The 3 lowest cutoff scores were in quota categories for people with disabilities. The Geography course had a cutoff score of 341 points, Food Engineering had a cutoff score of 334, and the lowest score of all was in Physics, with only 263 points.
