Tropical Storm Erin is Strengthening, NOAA Aircraft are in Barbados Ready to Investigate and New Pot

Tropical Storm Erin is strengthening and will continue to do so as it encounters warmer ocean waters and atmospheric conditions become more favorable. We need to watch this storm closely as uncertainty remains high for forecasters at NHC, who issue the official authoritative forecasts that emergency managers use to execute their plans. NOAA Aircraft flew to Barbados today with another one headed there tomorrow (G-IV). Its all hands on deck as Erin approaches the Lesser Antilles in a few days with a forecast to pass just north of the islands, including Puerto Rico. It's too close to call right now. The further west Erin moves will increase the probability of impacts to the islands. We will have another update tomorrow for the SISE Network. Dave
