Great bassline from a great song, taken from Jamiroquai's 2005 album Dynamite. For the chorus (which I believe is synth bass on the original recording) I'm using an octave pedal, in an attempt to emulate how Paul Turner plays it live. Please excuse the array of odd faces made throughout. Or don't - there's always a chance you'll find them entertaining. If so, good for you. Gear used: 1995 Music Man Stingray 3EQ Boss OC-2 Octave Capture: Focusrite Saffire 6 USB audio interface MacBook pro running iMovie and Logic Pro In Logic I added a noise gate and compression to the bass. I also cut some low-mid from the backing track in an attempt to eliminate as much of the original bassline as possible. Which is a shame really, because it's awesome.
