Hi everyone! And welcome on board the final video of 2023 on my channel. What a year it was. The introduction of the ICNG got many of your interest. Thank you so much for all your support, views, comments and shares throughout the year. It's a pleasure creating new videos for you all. Alright. Now on many request a look in the TRAXX engine room. Soon we won't be making any more rides on this locomotive. So I took my change and recorded a little video for you of the room where it all happens. Have fun and let me know what you think of it. 0:00 Eindhoven Shunting Yard We directly start with the tour. I will show you the belly of the TRAXX. After that you will be welcomed into the cabin and we will get ready to get this train running. We're located at the shunting yard of Eindhoven Centraal after I arrived with this train coming from the opposite direction. 6:49 Eindhoven Centraal Departure from Eindhoven. Just after departure you'll see the Eindhoven stadium on the left side of the tracks. And yes! It also has its own platform. Don't know if it is still in use a lot. 9:33 Eindhoven Strijp-S 12:39 Best (Tunnel) One of our tunnel stations is Best. This time I also added the tunnel information in the video for Best. 14:56 Ecoduct An ecoduct is a viaduct for nature. On top of viaducts like this you can find a save passage for animals from one part of nature to another part of nature. We have loads of these in our country. 15:33 Temporary Speed Limit + Broken Down Train Badgers have taken over. A bit further on the route they have nested in the fly-over. ProRail got them out later that week and the tracks were restored to normale speed afterwards. While we're slowing down for the temporary speed limit you can see a broken down train on the left side. All pantographs of the train are down and the driver is resetting the front locomotive. 19:23 Boxtel 23:58 Another Temporary Speed Restriction + Oisterwijk This time due to a sloppy underground beneath the tracks at Oisterwijk. Due to those two speed restriction our delay grows as well. :( 27:11 Waiting for On Time Train We're now 3 minutes behind on schedule. This means another on time train goes first just before we arrive in Tilburg. That train runs from Tilburg in the 's Hertogenbosch direction and crosses our path. 29:16 Tilburg Arriving with a small delay at Tilburg. The reasons for this you already know. After a short stop we depart on time again towards Breda and further. 33:10 Tilburg Universiteit 35:15 Tilburg Reeshof 37:17 Gilze-Rijen 41:03 Breda Just before Breda we must slow down because our arrival platform is occupied. The train dispatcher sees us arriving and diverts us to another platform at the last moment. :) Make sure to smile for the camera at Breda and let me know what you think of the picture. 48:42 Breda Prinsenbeek 50:46 Entering High Speed Line Time to change from safety system ATB to ERTMS (ETCS). On the high speed line higher speeds are allowed than on the conventional tracks. With ATB higher speeds than 140km/h are not allowed. TRAXX is not a real high speed train. But it is allowed to run 160km/h on the high speed line in our country. Soon all these trains will be replaced by ICNG running at 200km/h at the high speed line in The Netherlands. On the high speed line the power on the lines is set to 25.000V AC. So we must change from high voltage system in the voltage change-over as well. And a few kilometers behind the change-over there's a neutral section in place. That's why we won't be able to gain speed for some time. 54:34 Brug Hollandsch Diep 55:16 Tunnel Dordtsche Kil 56:25 Mookhoek Both Mookhoek and the next Molendijk are part of water prevention systems in our country. When water would rise to real high levels the doors in the dikes can be closed to prevent water from running into the country. 58:16 Molendijk 58:36 Tunnel Oude Maas 1:00:06 Leaving High Speed Line Time to change back to 1500V DC and ATB. 1:00:58 Kap Barendrecht 1:02:32 Rotterdam Lombardijen 1:03:34 Rotterdam Stadion 1:03:53 Track Subsidence + Rotterdam Zuid A track subsidence felt really well by running over it. After passing it we report this to the train dispatcher. :) 1:04:33 Willemspoortunnel + Rotterdam Blaak 1:06:47 Rotterdam Centraal Final stop for this years videos! I hope you enjoyed the tour and the ride. Thank you all again for your support, views, shares and comments in 2023. And now lets have a great start of 2024! :D See you back in two weeks.
