What are the differences between these two Land Cruisers? The 80 series is the last Landcruiser to have a front solid axle in the US. The early model 80 series received the 4L 155hp 3FE engine (1991-1992) and in 1993 the got the 4.5L inline6 212hp. Once Toyota introduced the revamped Landcruiser 200 series, the 5.7L V8 with 383hp. A ton of power. This helped bump up the towing capacity from 5000lbs on the 800 series to 8000lbs with the 200 series. There were a little over 3x more 80 series made than the 200 (~120k 80 series and LX450 vs ~39k 200 series) so chances are that you will see more 80s on the market vs the 200. As more and more off roaders discover the amazing capabilites of the Landcruisers, these SUVs will continue to find new life from the mall crawling moms, to the rock crawling that they were built to handle.
