In this video, we explore some of the most important liberal theories of International Relations that explain how cooperation, peace, and economic connections shape global politics. Unlike realism, which emphasizes power and conflict, liberal approaches focus on institutions, democracy, economic ties, and social interactions among societies. First, we discuss Sociological Liberalism, which argues that international relations are not only shaped by states but also by people, societies, cultural interactions, and transnational networks. Increasing global communication, migration, and social connections influence how states behave in world politics. Next, we examine the Democratic Peace Theory, one of the most influential liberal ideas. This theory suggests that democratic states rarely go to war with each other because democratic institutions, public accountability, and shared norms encourage peaceful conflict resolution. The video also explains the Interdependence Model, which highlights how economic cooperation, trade, and global markets create mutual dependence among states, reducing the likelihood of war and encouraging cooperation. Finally, we analyze Complex Interdependence, developed by Robert Keohane and Joseph Nye, which argues that modern international politics involves multiple channels of interaction between societies, reduced importance of military force, and increasing influence of international institutions and economic relations. Watch till the end to clearly understand how these theories explain peace, cooperation, and globalization in modern world politics. 📌 This lecture is useful for UGC NET Political Science (Paper 2), SET, MA Political Science students, and other competitive examinations, as it directly relates to Unit 5: International Relations. 📌 Join my Telegram Channel for Notes & PDFs 👉 https://t.me/drpoonamgulia #InternationalRelations #Liberalism #SociologicalLiberalism #DemocraticPeaceTheory #ComplexInterdependence #Interdependence #PoliticalScience #IRTheory #GlobalPolitics #RobertKeohane #JosephNye #IRStudents #UPSC #UGCNETPoliticalScience #Education #YouTubeEducation #StudyMaterial
