Many people by now know that Homegrown Fantasy closed this past summer. For many years this place served as a social spot for locals and tourists alike. For me it was my second home while I was in town. Hell I sat in the same spot for almost 15 years. 3 months after my wife and I started dating, we spent hours in HGF getting reacquainted and falling in love. Well,,,, We had a lot to overcome. My cancer, kids, exes, the normal life in general as well. When she said yes, the only place fitting to express our love and exchange our rings was Amsterdam. Here's where it gets tricky. Once Amsterdam was the local, we needed someone to officiate the vows and a place to do it at. It came to me that the only proper person would be some one my soon to be wife and I both loved and respected. Our plan was simple. Now just find a place to host 20 plus people for dinner and a casual exchange of vows. Well the person happened to be Jaap. The rest is sort of history. Jaap said yes. Then as a surprise, he and Carla, who we also love very much and look to for spiritual guidance, arranged everything to be at Homegrown Fantasy. How cool is that? Marry someone you love. Do it in front of people you love and be as far as we know the first couple to get married in a Dutch coffee shop. Anyway,,, I was nervous as hell. Enjoy Love n Light always
