Cyclone Dana Updates LIVE: Severe Cyclone Dana Moves Closer To Odisha Coast, Evacuation Expedited Cyclone Dana Live Updates: Cyclonic storm Dana approached the Odisha coast on Thursday afternoon, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds to various regions of the state. The sea conditions remained turbulent, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). In response to the impending natural disaster, the state government accelerated evacuation efforts in coastal districts. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted a review meeting and instructed officials to strive for "zero casualty" during the calamity. The IMD forecasted that the cyclone would make landfall between Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra Port in Odisha early Friday, with wind speeds reaching up to 120 kilometres per hour (kmph). The weather system, which originated over the Bay of Bengal, traveled north-northwestwards at a speed of 12 kmph over the past six hours.
