The Idahoan presents his lyrical paraphrase of the 9th Psalm. Lyrics: Let all my soul in thankfulness Sing praise unto the Lord, And show forth His marvelous works In gratitude adored! I will sing the praises of His Name, In Whose presence all my foes do fall, To perish in the holy flame That blazes ‘round His throne, ‘til none is left to bear the name Of those who wickedness have done. Hear ye now, mine enemies, Who conquer and destroy, And blot out the very memory Of ideals once held high: Your reign of terror is over now, For God forever reigns supreme, Before whom every knee must bow, Who’s heavenly court will soon convene, And righteous judgment minister To all the people of the earth. Men overtaken by disaster, Or oppressed and in great dearth, Who know the Lord will trust in Him, And refuge take before His throne, And songs of praise they there shall raise, Until God makes His inquisition, And their case decides, For the Almighty heeds their humble plea. Wherefore, oh Lord, what e’er betide, Have mercy upon me. Consider those who me afflict, And in thy righteous mercy render Now to us Thy holy verdict, Oh, my Merciful Defender Who lifteth me from realms of death, That Thy salvation I may show, And sing Thy praise with all my breath. Behold the heathen sinking low Into the miry pit That in malice he prepared; Now by the justice of God’s judgment, In his own trap he is ensnared, For by His righteous judgment God is known. All who in wickedness forget That God is on His throne, The flames of Hell swiftly devour In this their final desperate hour When to those whom they oppressed God makes His mercy known. Arise, oh Lord, Thy court convene, That all the world may fear thy Name, And realize they are but men, While God forever reigns supreme.
