Wei Sawdong Falls: The literal meaning of the words ‘Wei’ means pool and ‘Sawdong’ means square shape. Located at a distance of approx 53 km from Shillong, it is one of the picturesque sites to witness and is among the best places to visit in Cherrapunji. The water falling from the rocks is indeed a treat to the eyes. However, the pathway leading to this waterfall is not something to be undertaken by everyone. The steep trekking experience amidst the forest and non-conventional bamboo stairs adds to its difficulty. This waterfall lies in three distinctive layers which gives it a spectacular look, especially during monsoon. The height of each layer is nearly about 100 meters.
