Sajid was shot dead by police on December 14 when he and his 24-year-old son, Naveed Akram, allegedly opened fire at the Chanukah By The Sea event at Bondi in an attack which police believe may have been “inspired by ISIS”, and claimed 15 innocent lives. Naveed was shot and taken into custody with critical injuries. He has been charged with 59 offences, including 15 counts of murder and one count of committing a terrorist act. A week on from the massacre, Sajid’s body remains in the morgue at the coroner’s office.
