This was my second trip on this boat for fluke. good boat to practice on, lots of action. top notch fluke fisherman on here. you can learn a lot by watching them. my setup is a hi lo, same as my friend. he used gulp, spearing and squid. I used spearing and squids. I was getting hits but not able to set the hook. I missed many and had to re-bait. at the end of the day I realized that the line has to be tight. I was able to set the hook more. Most of my catches were from lifting the rod up, from 3o'clock to 2 or to 1o'clock. Sometimes, fluke hit it when going down. when current is strong, I'll drag the bottom. I'll pull the line toward me and then let it fall back. Sticky bottom, avoid using bucktail jigs.
