April 2019, Hollister, CA Following a series of pattern flights, as part of its flight test program, ZeroAvia has conducted the "fuel economy" / range test in April 2019. These tests confirmed dramatically more energy efficient operation compared with the stock aircraft. Specifically, energy economy of just 800 WH / mile was achieved at 100 kts indicated airspeed (a little over 110 mph), consuming just 80-90kW of power. For comparison, this is substantially less than a similarly sized electric ground vehicle would consume at that speed (e.g., Tesla Model X). This was again done on completely on zero emission power source. This is the first such flight for an aircraft of this size (6 seats) worldwide.
