Nissan is stepping up its China EV offensive with the new NX8, a large five-seat SUV that combines bold styling, high-end cabin tech, and two electrified powertrain choices. Pre-sales open on March 20, 2026, positioning the NX8 as a key model in Dongfeng Nissan’s push for a stronger presence in the fast-growing new-energy market. The SUV measures 4,870 mm long, 1,920 mm wide, and 1,680 mm tall, with a 2,917 mm wheelbase, giving it a wide stance and a spacious cabin aimed at family buyers. The NX8 arrives in both pure electric and range-extended forms. The battery-electric version uses an 800V high-voltage platform and is offered with single-motor outputs of 215 kW and 250 kW. The range-extended version pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine rated at 109 kW with a 195 kW electric motor, giving buyers an option that combines EV-style driving with extended usability for longer trips. The pure electric model delivers a driving range of 565 km to 650 km, while the range-extended version offers 102 km to 185 km of pure electric range and more than 1,000 km of combined range. Technology is one of the NX8’s biggest selling points. Inside, the SUV features a wraparound cockpit layout with a large dual-screen setup, a head-up display, wireless phone charging, and a Qualcomm 8295 cockpit chip. On the outside, the design leans heavily into a futuristic look, with hidden door handles, a full-width lighting signature, and a dramatic rear OLED light bar stretching about 2.4 meters and using 2,064 light elements. Taken together, the NX8 looks like one of Nissan’s most serious technology-led launches in China in years. With 800V EV architecture, a range-extender option, large-SUV proportions, and a digital-focused interior, the model is designed to meet rising demand for fast charging, intelligent cabin hardware, and standout design in one package. #nissan #nx8 #recanything #novo
