Smart Cruise Control, or SCC, is designed to maintain a predetermined distance from vehicles detected ahead by automatically adjusting the driving speed based on certain circumstances. When SCC determines that you are attempting to overtake a vehicle ahead, Overtaking Acceleration Assist may help with acceleration. The front view camera, radar, and corner radar, detect the lane markings and the vehicle in front of you. When the system detects a vehicle ahead, it helps maintain the distance from that vehicle. SCC will automatically slow the vehicle to maintain a set distance, without depressing the accelerator or brake pedal. Overtaking Acceleration Assist operates when the left turn signal is turned on. If equipped, SCC can operate based on driving style, such as inter-vehicle distance, acceleration, and reaction speed. To enable SCC and set/adjust the SCC speed, press the DRIVING ASSIST button on the steering wheel to turn SCC on and set to the current vehicle speed – this is called One-Touch Set. The Cruise Indicator will illuminate on the Instrument Cluster. SCC may decrease speed to maintain the distance from the vehicle in front. If you want to increase speed, press the PLUS-MINUS switch up. To decrease speed, press the PLUS-MINUS switch down. The indicator light, set speed and vehicle distance will illuminate on the Instrument Cluster screen. To Pause or Resume SCC operation – press the PAUSE-RESUME switch. To turn SCC off, press the DRIVING ASSIST button – the SCC indicator on the Instrument Cluster will turn gray. To adjust the sensitivity of SCC, go to the Vehicle Settings on the Infotainment System, press SETUP, VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, DRIVING CONVENIENCE, and SMART CRUISE CONTROL. Here, you can select BASED ON DRIVING STYLE and you can set the vehicle distance, acceleration, and reaction speed. You can also set your VEHICLE DISTANCE from the vehicle in front of you while driving, by pressing the VEHICLE DISTANCE button on the Steering Wheel – then cycle through the settings. You can adjust the distance in the SCC settings. To adjust the WARNING METHOD settings for driver assistance systems, under DRIVER ASSISTANCE, select the speaker icon or WARNING METHOD. Here you can change the WARNING VOLUME, which may change the warning volume for other driver assistance systems as well. Selecting “Haptic Warning” activates the steering wheel vibration warning on certain driver assistance systems. “Lane Safety Audible Warning Off” turns off the audible warning for Lane Safety features. “Driving Safety Priority” lowers all other audio volume when the Driving Safety system sounds a warning and Parking Safety Priority, also lowers all other volume when the Parking Assist view is active.
