For over 10 years, R2-D2 has been part of my family. He’s been to schools, events, and conventions and has brought smiles to countless kids and adults across Japan. If you search “r2d2japan”, you’ll see just how many stories this little droid has been part of. R2-D2 isn’t just a robot to us — he’s family. My son’s first word wasn’t “daddy”… it was “R2.” But after a decade of service, R2-D2 is tired. Motors are worn out, electronics are failing, and critical parts need to be replaced. I’ve repaired him as much as I can, but I can’t continue investing more money myself.
