In June 2019 I had a trip to Oban booked but in the week leading up to the trip the MV Clansman suffered a technical problem, resulting in a shift of vessels across the Western Isles. Although not related to the Clansman's breakdown the Loch Striven soldiered on running in and out of Oban to the small island of Lismore, I had some free time before catching the Isle of Lewis to Mull (Video of that coming soon!) so I took the crossing to Lismore for the first time. As you can see by the video the weather wasn't the best but that didn't stop me. I bought my ticket and headed down to the slipway in time to video her arrival from Oban, before she headed off the slip to berth at the North Pier for around 20 minutes prior to her next sailing. Soon enough she glided back across Oban Bay and berthed on the slip when I boarded her to Lismore. As we departed Oban you can see the sick Clansman as well as the secondary Mull vessel the MV Coruisk. As we powered out of Oban Bay the Coruisk began to follow us out and sooner rather than later we were at Lismore. I didn't have very long on Lismore nothing more than 5 minutes or so, but after a few pictures I hopped back on board the Loch Striven for the return to Oban, on the inbound sailing the Isle of Lewis passed us inbound from Castlebay, Barra and as we approached the slipway at Oban the two giants of Isle of Lewis and Clansman greeted us, before getting off the vessel at Oban and watching her head back across to the North Pier for another quick break. This video has come out around 11 months after the event, the arrivals and departures videos are already up on the channel but I never got around to making my usual style of video on the Oban trip due to time restraints, etc. But seen as we are all stuck in the house I have decided now is the time to throw the videos together!
