Today is a critical day in our fight for #JusticeForAnissia. We seek your support in ensuring that justice prevails. Two co-accused in the case have been denied anticipatory bail, skipped police summons, and are yet again applying for a bail in High Court today. The FIR was registered on July 14th, concerning Anissia Batra’s sudden death on July 13th. The accused named in the FIR included Anissia’s husband Mayank Singhvi and her in laws, Rajendra and Sushma Singhvi. On July 16th, Rajendra and Sushma Singhvi were granted an extension on “personal grounds” until July 20th. They then filed for anticipatory bail, which was denied on July 20th. They were given a notice to appear at the Hauz Khas police station on July 21st by 3pm. However, Rajendra and Sushma did not show that day either, instead getting an additional 3 day extension due to “health reasons”. Rajendra and Sushma Singhvi are now to present themselves at the Hauz Khas police station today, July 23rd for questioning. However, at this time they have also applied for bail in High Court, also to be heard today. It has already been 10 days since Anissia‘s death. We refuse to give up faith in our judicial system, and we gain strength from your voices of support behind us.
