One of the most exciting and fun things that I do is help clients decide what their training programs and curriculums are going to look and feel like. That's one of the biggest challenges for our clients. Because they usually have so much material already out there, whether its paper based or video based, often times it's hard to decide what stays and what goes, and when it should be used. With a smart system, you're able to really integrate all the material that you have so that you're not throwing away things that are potentially working for the organization, but instead you are folding them in, refreshing them, and allowing your associates to go through them when it's appropriate. When you use a smart system to help design your curriculum, you have choices in how to get that information to your associate. Some things are amazingly wonderful on video. They need to be role modeled you need to feel somebody's passion or visually see something happening. Other things like policies or procedures, that are much more standards, are really best off being read. So a PDF put in right after that beautiful visual works really nicely. When you have a system that allows you use a blended learning approach, you really make the best use of your associate's time and your budget. I had the pleasure of working with a client over the last two weeks. They have a long legacy, a beautiful history, and the most exciting thing is they sell chocolate. When you think about a client like this, there is no compromise when it comes to the quality of their product, and food safety is a big part of that. When I'm sitting down and working with this client, we're really looking at a very robust and rich learning curriculum. And they have tons of material out there. Being able to read that document and then check for retention with assessments and quizzes is really critical to ensure that associate understands exactly what they're supposed to do. When you take this blended learning approach and you really put in materials that work for the organization, with some beautiful media content, with assessments and activities, all of a sudden everything comes together. And you're able to unlock value in material that you've used for years, refresh it by putting it into a digital learning platform, and then add to it by giving it rich, beautiful media. This way, when associates are learning, they have everything they need right at their fingertips. It basically takes the responsibility away from the manager and allows the associate to understand all the tools that are available to them. So if you've been watching this video blogs you know I always wrap up with a tip. And my tip is, reevaluate the materials you have and understand how you can bring them all together. When we work with our clients, we always ask them what tools are out there in the field. Are there things you'd like to repurpose and use? We think that materials that works for your organization works within a platform as well. It's just a matter of taking it organization it, and deciding the best way to use it.
