Italy dropped Baldini for Foconi, and this was Garozzo's first year as anchor. Italy still wins 2018 Wuxi World WCH Final - USA won every world cup of that season. However, this time WCH wasn't even close - Italy wins again 2019 Budapest WCH - USA wins its first ever WCH, but it didn't face Italy along the way 2021 Tokyo Olympics - USA wins Bronze, while Italy lost to Japan in the quarterfinal 2022 - Italy wins every (if not almost every - I don't remember the result for Cairo World Cup) event, and beats USA 45/39 at WCH. This was Guillaume BIANCHI's first year on the team. 2023 - Surprisingly Hong Kong beats both Italy and USA in T8 and Bronze Medal Match respectively. This was Filippo MACCHI's first season on the team. 2024 - These teams did not meet at the Olympics. Italy beat USA in the Semifinal 45/38, then USA lost against France for Bronze. 2025 - Italy and USA were the only teams to win World Cups this season, with Italy winning more. This is Bryce LOUIE's first seasons on the team. Despite GAROZZO retiring, the Italian team is incredibly competitive, during this season, every member of the Italian team won at least one individual event. Davide Filippi broke into Top 16 without having fenced European and World Championships. Team Italy also changed national head coach from Stefano CERIONI to Simone VANNI.
