My parents recently celebrated 52 wonderful years together, and I wanted to surprise them with a cake as special as their love story. Since their personalities—and their flavor preferences—are so different, I designed a 2-in-1 dessert that reflects them both. While I create, they’ll be sharing a bit of their story—a journey filled with laughter, kindness, and all the little moments that add up to a lifetime of love. THE FLAVORS ✨ For My Dad: The outer dessert is bold, bright, and full of contrast. It starts with a crisp almond crust, filled with a rich, nutty pistachio frangipane, then layered with tangy lemon curd for a fresh, zesty kick. On top, a swirl of toasted Italian meringue adds just the right touch of sweetness and warmth. ✨ For My Mom: The center gâteau is soft, sweet, and full of warmth. A buttery pâte sucrée shell holds a light caramel mousse. Inside is an insert made from crunchy praline, smooth chocolate ganache, and a tender, buttery sablé Breton. It’s all topped with a rich chocolate crémeux. THE DECORATIONS ✨ The character decorations are made from pâte sucrée and decorated with hand-painted food coloring details, royal icing, marshmallow fondant, and isomalt, adding a personal, storybook-like touch. ✨ Love and flowers just belong together, so I topped it off with a bouquet of mascarpone buttercream roses. This cake was made with so much love, and I hope you enjoy watching it come together.
