*********WRITTEN REVIEW*********** ► Taste: 9/10 ○ The taste of this DIY kit was very good! I actually enjoyed this kit very much! It doesn't necessarily taste like an actual doughnut, but it is sweet & flavorful :) The instant you mix in the yellow dough powder with water, you smell a very SWEET & BUTTERY pastry smell! The red packet containing the chocolate colored dough smelled alright. It wasn't as strong as the yellow dough, but it had a small hint of a chocolate-y scent. The chocolate icing had a semi-sweet chocolate taste to it, and the taste was very similar to Hershey's cocoa. The cookie crumbs gave the doughnuts a nice added texture, but didn't have any taste. Sprinkles are sprinkles ;D lol as far as the icing goes, the strawberry icing was DELICIOUS. I loved it! The white icing, I'm assuming it was SUPPOSED to be vanilla....but it tasted more like coconut to me. Overall, the taste was great! ► Texture: 7/10 ○ It IS a candy kit, so the texture of the doughnut was a mixture of chewy, gummy, and cake-like. That's a weird mix, right? You'll have to get your hands on one of these if you want to know what I mean. The icing (if not mixed thoroughly) will have a very small grainy texture to it. That texture of course does not ruin the overall taste of course ;D the taste of the icing was great (I do prefer the strawberry one over the vanilla icing). The sprinkles were like any other regular sprinkles ;D & the cookie crumbs were fairly crunchy, but would soften up almost immediately after you place them in your mouth. ► Difficulty: 5/10 ○ My reason for rating this section a "5", is because there's more assembly put into this kit. It makes you WORK for your "meal" ;D The most difficult part of making this kit, would have to be using the plastic mold to form the doughnut shapes. You need to apply the right amount of dough into the mold to get a nicely formed doughnut shape. Add too little, and you may end up with huge pockets, or a crumbly disaster while popping them out. Mixing the dough takes about a minute or two to get the right texture needed to make the dough. The spoon they provide is fairly small, so when mixing the powder with water, be sure not to go too crazy while stirring, or the powder will fly everywhere! lol Decorating time depends on the person ^^ decorating for me took about 5 mins because I tried to make the doughnuts look "pretty". ► Would I like to make this kit again? ♥YES!♥ *~ This DIY kit was a VERY fun treat to make & eat! I would highly encourage you to purchase one and try it out for yourself! •Parents: This would make a very fun project to do with your child!
