With the Sumerian belief system underlying its core storyline, artist Nadar Sadek has created a piece which at once shows the perpetually dark and hopeless sides of the human condition. Bristling with gore and metaphor, “Garden of Disdain” is destined by the nature of its own brutally-fulfilled message to cause public consternation. When Morbid Angel tell a story, no holds are barred and all bets are proudly and resolutely off. “Nader Sadek does some of the most interesting and Dark visual art that I have ever seen, we were excited to work with him and see our musical ideas put into such amazing visuals!” says Steve Tucker. “My intention is to create a visual parallel to the song,” says Sadek, “a theme which repeats, yet within the loop-lay textures are controlled twists and turns. It was a bonus that I had the opportunity to use Sumerian iconography as well as obscure symbols of the pre-ancient past such as the Merkaba, a galaxy-roaming vessel.
