Scan each QR code to learn about the history of each landmark In this video, I'm taking you on a tour of Jakarta Old Town, also known as Kota Tua. This historic district is home to many well-preserved colonial buildings, as well as museums, shops, restaurants, and cafes. We'll start our tour at Jakarta Kota Station, a station that was inaugurated in 1929 by Governor-General Jhr. Andries Cornelis Dirk de Graeff who ruled during the Dutch East Indies era. Then we'll head to Fatahillah Square, the heart of Kota Tua. This square is surrounded by many important landmarks, including the Jakarta History Museum, the Wayang Museum, and the Bank Indonesia Museum. We'll also visit the Kali Besar, which was the center of economy and trading of VOC. Kali Besar was seen as an elite residential area in the early 18th century and later transformed to become the central area of offices for international trading.
