After the death of his wife, King Antonio bans dancing in his kingdom and family, but his twelve daughters refuse to give up the very thing that their mother loved most. They are given an enchanted dream catcher by their Sorceress aunt that allows them to physically enter a dream world, and as long as they are back in their room before sunrise, they can dance all night without a care in the world. But if someone stays past sunrise they will be turned into a dream and forgotten. After years, their father grows suspicious of their worn slippers and confronts his daughters, the twelve dancing princess deny that they know anything, so the king puts out a decree, “whoever can solve the mystery of the princesses worn slippers will be given a large prize of gold”. This decree catches the attention of a desperate young artist from a small town in the hills of Italy. After succeeding to follow the princesses into the dream world, James disguises himself as one of the many “dream princes” and finds himself confronted by the charming youngest princess, Lily.
