New Rickmansworth Aquadrome pedestrian bridge arrives to improve accessibility

Three Rivers has welcomed the new gateway into one of the jewels of the district following successful installation works. The brand-new 48.6 metre long and 3 metre wide Rickmansworth Aquadrome pedestrian bridge was lifted into place by a specialist crane over the weekend (15 March and 16 March) by Three Rivers District Council’s specialist contractor Beaver Bridges, New Civil Engineer – Bridge Contractor of the Year. Generations of residents and visitors will soon be able to use the new bridge, which was funded largely by developer contributions, to access the well-loved nature reserve. As the new bridge is double in width compared to the old one, it will enable pedestrians, wheelchairs, buggies and cyclists to pass each other safely as well as encourage sustainable travel. #threerivers #rickmansworth #bridge
