Located an hour outside of Jordan's Capital of Amman lies the city of Jerash - home to the best preserved Roman Ruins outside of Italy! Today I am here to explore and learn about the history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site is home to beautiful temples, a victory arch, and a street lined with columns and homes which provides insight into what life was like many years ago. Much of what you see, however, is a reconstruction as the city was hit with a devastating earthquake which toppled most of the structures to the ground. Even today, this place evokes so much emotion. Jerash shows us how advanced the Romans were and teaches us the history of that era.
