When a restaurant falls woefully short of the expectations that invariably come with being associated to a culinary genius like Marco Pierre White the first time round, the second visit will always be a more guarded affair, even if that return is six years later. We're happy to say, however, that our revisit to Mr White's English Chophouse was worth the wait, because this place finally manages to live up to the name of Marco Pierre White. Most of the dishes we tried as part of the new summer menu were brilliantly executed, with the simple ingredients used working in tandem to deliver some outstanding food. As for the steaks, then both the ribeye and the fillet were seasoned to a tee and exquisitely done. A memorable return to one of the best restaurants we've visited this year.
