While the Bluebell Railway is synonymous with Steam, the Bluebell's home fleet was given a well-earned rest, as the Deltic Preservation Society celebrated their 40th Anniversary on the line in style. Arguably one of the most successful and productive diesel locomotive groups in preservation history, The Deltic Preservation Society is responsible for three of the surviving six Class 55 'Deltics': D9009 "Alycidon", D9015 "Tulyar" and 55019 "Royal Highland Fusilier". The event saw the gathering of three 'Deltics' running together, two from the DPS stables and the National Railway Museum's D9002 "Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry", shouldered by Bluebell's resident Class 09 on Brake Van duties. Included in the event, was the photographic line-up of the three Deltics at the South end of Horsted Keynes station, as well as a top-and-tailed return service with 12 coaches. Locomotives: BR Class 09 - D4106 BR Class 55 'Deltic' - D9002 "Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry" BR Class 55 'Deltic' - D9009 "Alycidon" BR Class 55 'Deltic' - 55019 "Royal Highland Fusilier" All footage filmed on Friday the 6th of October 2017.
