Team APIYO Launches 'Delhi Chalo Abhiyan' Footmarch from January 31 to Battle Illegal Immigration Threat in the State. Itanagar, Jan 26: The Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organization (APIYO) will kick off its "Delhi Chalo Abhiyan" footmarch from Akashdeep at 10 AM sharp on January 31, 2026, a historic trek to New Delhi aimed at alerting Parliament to the "existential threat" of illegal immigration and cross-border demographic aggression in Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast. President Taro Sonam Liyak described the march not as a protest, but a "desperate petition" born from exhausted local remedies. It follows a memorandum to the Arunachal administration on October 6, 2025, peaceful rallies on October 24 and December 27, and a bandh on December 9. Despite these efforts, "unauthorized settlements continue to rise, posing severe security risks to our indigenous people and the strategically vital 'Chicken's Neck' region," the organization stated. A core team of disciplined volunteers will march peacefully along National Highways, emphasizing National Security awareness over State-specific grievances. The full route enters Assam at Banderdewa, follows NH 15 through Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Tezpur, and Mangaldoi, merges onto NH 27 via Rangia, Nalbari, Bongaigaon, and Kokrajhar, then exits at Srirampur en route to Delhi. APIYO commits to single-file formation on road shoulders, zero traffic obstruction, no inflammatory slogans, and full legal compliance. Secondary Development: Security Request to Assam CM In a related letter to Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, APIYO seeks transit permission and security amid fears of attacks in sensitive districts like Darrang, Barpeta, and Kokrajhar. Requests include rolling pilot escorts, a DSP-rank nodal officer, hospital alerts along NH-15 and NH-27, and a formal Transit NOC. The group praised Sarma's stance on indigenous issues but awaits a response. / subscribenow / @itsallaboutarunachal #dontforgettofollowmychannel #itsallaboutarunachal #𝐀𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡
